Bethany & Kevin: Save the Date
Why are all my brides so amazing. Please look at their photo. More than great. Bethany and Kevin wanted it to say that they are "riding off into the sunset" which I LOVE! The rest of their suite to come....

This little cup will help you figure out which morning you're waking up to.
My dear sweet friend, Shannon, is a miracle behind the camera. She was MY wedding and engagement photographer too :) How amazing are these from an engagement session! The first image is the middle of a polaroid! Its edgeless. It's genius.

Amber has been so fun to work with. This silhouette is actually her and Brandon from Disneyland!! Love the idea. We are working on Lakers jersey table numbers right now... more to come!

Love collages. Love these pieces from Tsilli entitled "The Figures." They have names like "401k", "Missing Assets", and "Profit Margins."
I was recently introduced to the beautiful work of Andrew Lin Photography. I love the still moments he captures. They still say so much. This is one of my favorites.
These two people have been an enormous joy to work with. I have known Nate for 8 or 9 years and his beautiful wife-to-be was so wonderful to collaborate with! Their photo on the front of their over-sized invite was taken by Nate in the Czech Republic while he and Emily were walking down a street together. Hands down the most original "engagement" photo. I used a tea box as inspiration when creating the back. Such a fun piece.
I am working on a picnic themed wedding right now with Chanell and used this color story for my inspiration. Can't wait to show you the final product.
Image grace of Snippet & Ink, my absolute favorite place to find color combos! Please visit the link to see image credits. Wait until you my new friend Katie's color combo we found together on S&I!!! WOOOO!!

This week's guest artist is my sweet friend and outstanding photographer, Angi Welsch. Angi is such a bright light in the world of photography. She is currently finishing her bachelors of fine art at Biola University and has her own wedding photography/portrait gig. She is PHENOMENAL. I love the mood she captures and the purity of the moment in her work. Be inspired by her work, her story, and what inspires her.
What's your favorite color combination?
I really love soft subtle colors combined with a strong earth tones… For example a light mint green paired with a mustard yellow, and a coffee brown.

What is your favorite project/piece? Why?
My current project is my personal favorite. I’m shooting environmental portraits of people on medium and large format film. The shooting process is laborious, and contemplative, which I appreciate in comparison to the quick fix of a digital SLR image. These portraits require me to spend an extended amount of time with my subject, which I really enjoy. It gives me time to further my understanding the person as I endeavor to convey who I understand them as in a photograph. I’ve always been deeply fascinated by people, and an observer of human behavior, this project allows me to illuminate those observations and pay homage to the people that I photograph.
Photographs by Angi. My favorite is Gabe on the Rocks and Sarah in the Rain. Gives me chills. Click to enlarge.
