I Die.

I just got back from a week in the Rocky Mountains... and I should be posting about that or even some of the great photos from real weddings of my brides that I just got back... but instead I have to share with you that Rachel, Taylor, Brad, Joey, and Rodger are coming back for a second season of The Rachel Zoe Project on August 25th. Shut it down. It's Christmas in August.

Seasonal Birthday Cards

I just picked up a seasonal birthday card series I created for a client of my friend Mindy at Cotton Idea Studio. If you haven't been to this Newport store, GO! It's a darling shop across the street from, yes, the beach with beautiful stationery and a fun-loving designer/owner (Mindy of course). She shares the space with Sally, the designer/owner of Halsea, a travel accessories designer who used to work for Roxy, Volcom, Modern Amusement and Paul Frank. The whole space is just so delightful.

Back to the project! There are four cards, one for each season, that were created for a businessman to give to his employees for their birthday. What a great boss! The cards are printed offset on lovely paper with a little message on the inside.

New MaeMae Cards

I picked up my new business cards last week from the printers!!! I love them. They are printed offset on 165 lb paper and are so thick and delicious.

My favorite pal growing up was my blue pony who had a bell inside. We had so many great adventures together. What I love about MaeMae is capturing other people's stories and turning them into tangible pieces that they in turn can share with their loved ones. Pony is a large part of my love of story making and telling and I wanted him to continue to inspire through my new branding of MaeMae.

MaeMae the Map Maven

Finishing off her week of guest blogging at Brooklyn Bride, Audrey from Urbanic featured two of my maps. What an honor!! I have been blushing all day. Maps have become my FAVORITE part of designing as of late, and I heartily agree with Audrey when she wrote, "As many of you already know, a map enclosure is often a necessary part of your wedding invitation set. The best advice I give brides when we are at this point is 'do not compromise'. There is nothing worse then being completely wow-ed by an amazing invitation and then having an ugly or technical map fall out. This breaks the flow of the whole look and feel you worked so hard to create."

Thanks, Audrey for the two MaeMae mentions this week!!

On Pointe

I can't stop looking at these beautiful photos. The movement and juxtaposition is just so STUNNING! I had 10 photos orginally up, but limited myself to these four. Check the rest of the images from the Ballerina Project here.

World's Best Puffy Dress

I'm not one for the puffy dress by any means, but this one changed my mind. So romantic. And big. And delicious. The gown was custom-made for Nancy to rent, by Vivian at Tomato Weddings in LA. Gorgeous photos by Amelia Lyon. And check out Amelia's amazing business cards by Friend or Foe.

As seen on Brooklyn Bride!

I was overjoyed this morning when I received a note from my friend Audrey at Urbanic Boutique letting me know MaeMae had made it onto the first day of her week-long guest blogging at Brooklyn Bride!! Post No. 1: Vintage Glamor featured a postcard form Michelle & Patrick's suite alongside my biggest stationery crush in history: Mika78. I think this going to be a good week...

This wedding is bananas.

To quote Rachel Zoe, I die. The paper goods for this wedding is BANANAS. I don't even know how I pulled myself away from Martha to continue designing today. I want to gush about every little detail of her paper designs, but you wouldn't finish reading this until next Fourth of July. Instead, check out more photos and explanations here. I will say that my two favorite (and that is extremely limiting myself) pieces are the accordion escort cards and the seating-card display on Plinko designed after "The Price Is Right" followed by the several 16-by-12-foot vinyl banners printed with Cheree's designs that hung around the reception site. (ok, and my other favorite is all of the little paper balls and gadgets on the cake!!) In sum, favorite paper/design infused wedding. Ever.

Bethany & Kevin

Bethany and Kevin are getting married in what Bethany described as " kind of a zen-meditation center and spa with a lot of inspiration from nature and art, with a big grassy marsh in the back." Ummm. Yes please. I can't wait to see their photos!! I love their bold colors. The envelope was that plum shade with a European flap. Love. My favorite part of this suite has to be the band though! More photos from the wedding to come. Don't forget their cute Save the Date!

OC Gazette Feature!

I have been so excited about this feature in the OC Gazette since I first heard from them! I pretty much freaked out when I saw my name on the COVER though... and with, ahem, the Real Housewives of Orange County. Sara, Gracy, and Amy have all been such pleasure to work with and created a beautiful layout and story. Thank you for all your beautiful work. You can see the full article as well as a slideshow gallery of some of my work here.

Read the digital mag here! MaeMae is on page 18-19.

There are two covers for the July issue, one for Central OC and one for South OC.

Thanks for taking the picture of me in my studio, Jae! You're the best.
