Branches & Light Workshop

Last summer (which seems so far away now!) I worked with Caroline Joy + Nancy Ray to create branding for their photography workshop: Branches & Light. The workshop aims to assist other female photographers take their love for photography and create small business. They outline the topics they will be addressing at both the Dallas + Raleigh workshops on their website. My favorite of the topics is "overcoming fear and embracing freedom in business." Beautifully put!

I also created Caroline's branding which I will showcase before their second workshop in a few weeks!

I am sponsoring a giveaway of my initial stamps for all of you and the lovely followers of Branches & Light.  Anyone can enter! All you have to do is....

1. Leave a comment on both the MaeMae blog as well as the Branches and Light blog, listing a New Year's Resolution for your business - something you want to do differently in 2011.  (you can leave the same comment in both places)

2. Update your twitter and facebook status with 'I love @maemaepaperie and @branches_light workshop!'

YAY! The winner will be announced between the two workshops (end of next week.)

Good luck. xx

Business Card Stamp

My bestie Whit has always been an inspiration to me. She may even be the cause of my current rubber stamp obsession. Since we were young she has always been an avid stamp collector and everyone was talking about when she created party invitations from a huge dress rubber stamp (seen above). Of course I had my mom drive me to the nearest Michaels and bought one too. Duh. And I still have it.

Whit has grown up to be a beautiful artist and currently works as the display coordinator at Anthroplogie. Wow. No biggie. Her talents span far beyond creating beautiful window and other installation displays. She is a marvelous painter and sculptor. These are her new business cards created from a stamp so that she can switch up her ink and paper choices whenever she wants. You can also use them to create letterheads!

Don't miss her image journal blog Her White Sunrise. One of my absolute favs. And it still would be even if I didn't know her.

Want your own? Buy one at the shop for $78. Choose from 20 different designs!

Mooooving.

I have been working with Jeanette (who is a CPA and the managing partner of Kramer Public Accounting Group) for over a year now recreating her branding and doing all of their stationery. They are moving to a posh new place and need to announce it to all their clients.

P.S. This is my NEW LENS!!! Only took me 10 months to finally get it. No more point and shoot cam! (actually a few more posts this week may use it since I have a ton of pics to still post...)

Hello Robertson!

Kelly from the darling Hello Robertson hair accessory company and I traded goods across the US (her in NYC and I in LA) and I recently returned my half of the trade. I made these two-sided tags for the lovely ladies at Hello Robertson when they ship off packages to clients... one of which includes Gossip Girl! Headband mania! I also created mini thank you cards the size of business cards that slip into a pretty purple envelope. So fun! Let me know if you want to trade goods :) Check out the headband she made me (which was featured on The Today Show and Daily Candy) here.

Gospel Swamp Coffee

Recently I had the privilege of working with Chad Bowker from Gospel Swamp Coffee Roasters to create his first ever business card. Printed on the thickest chipboard around, the one-sided card was letterpressed brown on brown for the earthy and tactile feel Gospel Swamp uses in all of its packaging. (trumpet sounding for first ever, MAEMAE + LETTERPRESS!!!)

The philosophy behind the new coffee roaster is to keep things simple and personal. Something I can appreciate. I also love the history behind the company's name: "Around the turn of the century 1900, everything from Huntington Beach to Santa Ana was known as Gospel Swamp. It got its name from the preachers that brought their tent revivals to this area that was, at the time, nothing more than a vast marshland. We named the company Gospel Swamp to be a constant affirmation of our dedication to bring quality coffee to our hometown."

Buy some delish Gospel Swamp coffee from Chad TODAY!! And I can back that because Chad was ever so gracious to send me a bag.

Real Gospel Swamp beans... mmmm. Maybe I ate some raw while photographing them...
